Our Pinteresting Family: Cute as a Button Baby Shower

Today our family hosted a baby shower on a budget for some friends who are expecting in November. ?The shower theme was Cute as a Button. ?We ordered printable invitations from Etsy for the party. ?

We then did simple decor using materials we used in other parties and then stuck to our budget of around $50 for decorations and projects.

Amy purchased a simple cake from a local grocery store, and then added on the Necco wafer candy along the sides to mimic the look of buttons.?

?Amy also made delicious pink lemonade cupcakes and added the adorable Necco wafers to the top of them for decoration. She made this simple cupcake stand from two chargers and a candle stick for a few dollars.

?The baby's name is going to be Remy, so Megan took some wooden letters from Michaels and glued some buttons all over them to go along with the theme. ?This project cost was around $4.00.
?Everyone enjoyed the Guess the Date on the Button game that was inspired from Amy at While Wearing Heels. ?A lot of people had our friend going early and it was an easy game for everyone to take part in.
?We did a simple set up for the food. This was before we placed the food on it because we were swamped once all the kiddos and guests arrived. We bought plates, napkins and cupcakes from Target. We made buttons for the wall out of yellow place mats from Kohl's on clearance for $1.00 each. Then added wooden circles to the place mats for the button look. ?Then Megan found a large "B" for baby and added buttons to that as well. The buttons were then spray painted yellow to really give it punch. ?
