Outsourcing company Infosys Ltd. (500209.BY) is negotiating to buy Zurich-based consultancy firm Lodestone Management Consultants for about $300 million, an Indian newspaper reported Saturday, quoting an Infosys executive it didn't name.

"Infosys is looking at Lodestone because of its immense consulting capability," The Financial Express quoted the executive saying.

An Infosys spokeswoman in Bangalore declined to comment.

The Swiss company reported revenue of 207 million Swiss francs ($211 million) for 2011, up from CHF181 million a year earlier, the newspaper said, quoting company data.

Infosys, based in the southern Indian city of Bangalore, has in the past talked about its intent to acquire companies that are worth roughly 10% of its annual revenue, or about $700 million.

Infosys has made four acquisitions since its inception in 1981. The largest-ever acquisition was in 2009, when its BPO unit bought privately held U.S.-based insurance solutions provider McCamish Systems for about $58 million.

The Indian company had cash and equivalent of $3.7 billion as of June 30, company data showed.
